Yes, that's Madeleine wear her "fabulous thrift store find" swim vest(which we haven't used yet to go swimming) Joshua hat and big Sissy's play money in her hand. She playing some sort of game, a work/house game. We moved the girls into 1 room and the boys into another. The girls have already started playing house, bitten finger baby dolls and all! The boys haven't really bonded yet, Caleb is enjoying watching David build in the garage. Which by the way we finally cleaned up for the like zillionth time! and last but not least, I think David and I should win an award for being able to re arrange a 3 bedroom house in SO many different ways! We've been here 4 years and we still can find new ways to arrange it!

Welcome to our crazy life....
When I grew up I had the wonderful benefit of living a bike ride away from both sets of grandparents. Not so lucky are our kids. Even for the actual ones that live in Atlanta, it's still a about an hours drive away! So, this blog will have to serve as the next best thing to riding our bikes to see the grandparents. Enjoy watching our kids learn and grow one day at a time...

10 things Thursday
1. Joshua holds the phone up to his ear and pretends to talk on it.
2. I just got our school transcript-its the first one for Caleb. He completed 180 days in Kindergarten!
3. Madie has her finger and toe nails painted red and LOVES them.
4. Elizabeth taught Joshua how to crawl the right way (not army crawl) all they do each night is chase each other around the house, its so precious.
5. Caleb is enthralled with Lego Batman, its all he talks about. Thanks Mr. Danny for getting it for us! (Its a game we play on the Wii, and for Caleb is real!)
6. I'm trying to enjoy my last two weeks of summer vacation before I start back teaching ballet in the evenings, it just goes so fast.
7. David should have a new 4day work week starting in August which will be wonderful for all of us.
8. Joshua is trying to walk, you can tell he wants to really bad but just ends up lunging forward and falling! I bet he will be walking by his birthday in September.
9. Joshua is also refusing to allow me to wean him. And still not sleeping through the night.
10. All in all we're good, a lot is happening with Refuge so we are keeping busy. just wanted to give everyone an update. Love to all!

Future Musician?
Joshua has been exploring much, much more lately. He loves to pull up and stand on any thing you can reach and I've even caught him balancing on his own. Recently he found he can reach the piano.
He makes a wonderful melody of music.....
perhaps he too will be a musician? (classical one hopefully, so the long tuxedo pants will hide his chubby baby legs!)

I just like you Mommy
Yes, that's Madie wearing her baby in her "pouch" just like I wear Joshua. I made her a pouch out of my scarf after watching her try to use her shirt as one. Its so neat to see your kids act like you. And rather funny too....last night I walk into the living room to find Madie, shirt up, nursing her baby. Of course this was one of her many babies she has bitten the fingers and toes off of. I guess she was trying to make up for her violent behavior by being extra motherly!

Our window
It seems that Joshua has found one of the many hidden treasures of our house, our front window sills
Madie found it when she was his age too!
I always adore watching my kids enjoy looking out the front window. It's just the right height for them to stand at and they all seem to love pressing their faces and hands against the cool glass. It's just one of the small joys in the life of a mother.

Hey everyone!
Its Joshy here, just wanted to let you all know my mama's been busy keeping all of us clean and healthy. Last week we all went to the dentist, and got haircuts, and I even got some new foods to eat! But she's promised to update the blog soon so be on the look out. Right now she's got to figure out how to get me out of the bath tub without making me cry since I LOVE being in the tub!! Love you all!

Madie's 1st french braid
Well, I told her it was a princess braid. That was enough to get her to sit still while I braided her hair! So beautiful

New month, new design
Thought is was time for a little change.
As you know We've already started our school year and it has proven to be a challenge. With my new email program, Outlook, I have an amazing calendar and task manager. I've outlined my entire day/week/month. I've listed when I'm teaching which child and what cleaning I'm doing around the house.
however,
Today was a different story
allow me to explain
Schedules fell to the way side the moment we woke, which was 5am thanks to Joshua.
David left for work
Madie joined us at 6:45
by 7am the whole house is up and eating
by 8am I've put two banana bread loaves in the oven only to discover I forgot to double the bananas because there are 3 extra bananas on the counter still. Did you know you can take batter out of the pan, remix and it will still come out alright?
by 8:30 I've received a phone call revealing there is another HUGE outdoor arts festival the same weekend as Project Dance Atlanta and it's only a few blocks away.
by 9am I have figure out no one knows about this new festival and put figuring out what to do about it on my to do list (which is wayyyy too long)
by 11am I have made 2 batches of chicken nuggets, 2 quesadilla kits, those darn banana loaves and cleaned the kitchen
by 12:30 I've fed the kids after going to the store for a few items that were left off the grocery list.
then I talk on the phone for an 1 and a 1/2 about Refuge. (I have no idea what the kids were doing during that time, all I know is they are still alive) at one point I am asked if my schedule will free up once the kids go back to school....all I can do is laugh!
back to cooking and by 5 pm I've made 2 batches of granola bars, 2 lasagna, 2 bags of spaghetti sauce, 24 spice muffins and dinners is heading towards the table.
after dinner my amazing husband cleans the kitchen for me
errands and oh, I also did 6 loads of laundry and packed the kids and myself at some point during all this...and I say all of this to say
tomorrow, we leave for Memphis to visit family for an actual VACATION away from all of this.
