Welcome to our crazy life....

When I grew up I had the wonderful benefit of living a bike ride away from both sets of grandparents. Not so lucky are our kids. Even for the actual ones that live in Atlanta, it's still a about an hours drive away! So, this blog will have to serve as the next best thing to riding our bikes to see the grandparents. Enjoy watching our kids learn and grow one day at a time...

wanted to share

This is my favorite part of my house, my kitchen because of the sunlight. I can't put into words how much I enjoy sitting down in my kitchen when the sunlight is streaming through the windows like it is this morning. I will often read my bible at the yellow table, coffee in hand and just soak in the Word and the sun. I don't know why I love sunlight so much, but I really do. My kitchen gets the morning sun and my bed room gets the late afternoon sun. Sunday afternoon naps on the bed with the sunlight pouring in is the best! I haven't enjoyed a nap like that in while.....I should. At least this morning I can enjoy a little sunshine time as I type this post. Hoping your day is filled with Sunshine.

My little ballerina

(She popped in her pants so a new pair of panties was in order and a ballet skirt somehow got in the mix too)

wow, it's been a while

updates:

1. Joshua can now roll over from his back to his tummy. Did it for the first time last night! We've also been trying to feed him a little rice cereal, he's slowly getting the hang of it. About 1/3 ends up in his tummy.

2. I finally washed the dresses Refuge wore at a show back in November. that's how swamped we've been.

3. Elizabeth turns 11 the end of this month, beginning to feel old! She is super excited, hoping to get a guitar with an electric plug in and an amp! It's going to be loud. But at least she's not playing drums! (That's what Caleb wants to do)

4. We broke the potty seat Madie has been using (It had gone through Caleb and her)So was had to go get a new one, a pooh bear one, that flushes and says "Great Job" She adores it! We had been having a little difficulty getting her to not pee in her pants. She would come to us and say "I didn't mean to" yeah, right. But this new potty seems to have inspired her, she asks to potty on it now.

5. A few weeks ago, David and I decided to buy a new lighting fixture for the living room. Our old one was caked with dust I couldn't get off, brass, 8 lights, and hideous. I can't tell you how glad I was to put it on the street and yes, some one took it. However, we can't find the right light to replace it. We're on fixture #2 and it's not enough light because it only has 2 bulbs. The first one we loved but the base of it was brown and we have finally decided black is the way to go. We heard about a Home Depot outlet going out of business so we are hoping to visit there this weekend and perhaps even get a fan or two. We have already changed all our flush mount brass lights to brushed nickle ones. We're slowly but steadily getting rid of the brass.

6. This whole lighting thing prompted us to call three Realtors to look at our house and tell us what we still need to do to be ready to sell. And all I have to say is I wish we hadn't, I'm more confused then when we started. Only one actually said what we needed to do and gave us an opinion about the lighting fixtures. And now we know the truly grim picture of the housing market in our area. well, depending on which Realtor you talk to!

7. Caleb has read two books, all by himself, "Hop on Pop" and "Go Dog Go" he loves it. He's been reading now for a while, but we just got into silent e words. He is doing Explode the code and writing words and reading all by himself as well. It's amazing. He still forgets to include Thursday when reciting his days of the week though, so according the Caleb it's Friday!

8. Madie is talking a whole bunch, she will say cute responses. Last night she asked me "Is that a clippy in your hair?" I replied it was. "Oh nice, you look so pretty mommy" was her response!

9. David and I are currently reading through the entire bible, We just finish Job! It's been really neat to not only read the old Testament but to read it at the same time. I'm excited to be getting into the Psalms and proverbs, my favorite books.

10. And last but not least, no snow. We had tiny, and I mean tiny, flurries yesterday, but nothing else. Just cold, then hot, then freezing cold or rain. Last night we stayed in and I made a fire. The weather has made it hard to get my errands done because taking 4 kids out in the cold or the rain isn't fun or a good idea. I will glad when it finally warms up.

so, there's a few updates, I'll try to be better about blogging, we have just been so busy lately.
